Carolina Catastrophe Services Inc :: COVID-19 Business Continuity Plan

We are committed to keeping our clients and our team safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. We will strictly adhere to all mandates and guidelines as provided by the State of North Carolina and the CDC. Please first note that we may be considered "critical trades."

Critical trades. Building and Construction Tradesmen and Tradeswomen, and other trades including but not limited to plumbers, electricians, exterminators, cleaning and janitorial staff for commercial and governmental properties, security staff, operating engineers, HVAC, painting, moving and relocation services, and other service providers who provide services that are necessary to maintaining the safety, sanitation, and essential operation of residences, Essential Activities, and Essential Businesses and Operations

Given the potential of significant damage to your roof and other exteriors as causing leaks, the services provided by Carolina Catastrophe Services, Inc. can be considered essential. As such, we will take every measure to ensure the safety of our clients and all of our staff.

Please note that our Project Managers are working remotely. Considering the vehicles as their office space, all recommended cleaning procedures have been applied to the interior of the trucks.

In the event of mandated business closures, we will continue to provide emergency services as needed. Our primary needed services at this time will include the following:
- Full inspection of home-owner’s roofs and other exteriors
- Tarping of severely damaged roofs that my result in leaking

We can conduct the above services in absolute safety and without face to face contact with homeowners. We have several measures in place in order to carry out these services and the steps that follow.

-- You may either (a) call our office to request an inspection, or (b) click below to fill out the on-line form to request an inspection. Our Project Managers will stay at a safe distance while performing the inspection. Our Project Managers will then follow up with a phone call to report their findings. They will not need to go to your door to speak to you in person.

-- Any tarping services required will be performed at a safe distance. Face-to-face contact with home-owners is not necessary for that service.

-- If our Project Manager reports significant damage to your home, we will ask that you sign a contract to move forward with our services. At that point, you can either (a) use our Cat Service Client Portal that allows you to complete the contract online, or (b) if you prefer a hard copy, we can leave a copy of the contract at your door or in your mailbox. You may call our Project Manager to discuss the contract if you have any questions.

Further information regarding the necessary steps after signing the contract can be provided by your Project Manager. Please note that all information and documentation can be sent and received securely through the Cat Service Client Portal.

Carolina Catastrophe Services Inc :: COVID-19 Safety Measures

Guidelines we are adhering to include (but not limited to) the following:

  1. We have educated all of our staff to recognize the symptoms of COVID-19. Anyone exhibiting any symptoms or suspecting any exposure to the virus are required to continue to stay home.
  2. We have educated all of our staff to follow the CDC cleanliness guidelines:
    1. Wear disposable gloves and gowns for all tasks in the cleaning process, including handling trash.
      1. Additional personal protective equipment (PPE) might be required based on the cleaning/disinfectant products being used and whether there is a risk of splash.
      2. Gloves and gowns should be removed carefully to avoid contamination of the wearer and the surrounding area.
    2. Wash your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds.
      1. Always wash immediately after removing gloves and after contact with an ill person.
      2. Hand sanitizer: If soap and water are not available and hands are not visibly dirty, an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol may be used. However, if hands are visibly dirty, always wash hands with soap and water.
    3. Additional key times to wash hands include:
      1. After blowing one’s nose, coughing, or sneezing.
      2. After using the restroom.
      3. Before eating or preparing food.
      4. After contact with animals or pets.
      5. Before and after providing routine care for another person who needs assistance (e.g., a child).
  3. Given our Project Managers’ need to work in the field and work out of their vehicles, any guidelines recommended for cleaning office spaces have been applied to the interior of the trucks. All trucks are required to be cleaned thoroughly and frequently. Each truck will maintain a supply of hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes.
  4. Safety gear: Our Project Managers will be responsible when visiting the property of home-owners, however it is important to keep in mind that they will need to practice safe ladder climbing techniques that could prohibit them from wearing safety gear. They will wear safety gear that may include goggles, masks, and gloves when they are not climbing ladders.
